Latviešu Mednieku un Makšķernieku Klubs
The Latvian Anglers and Hunters Club
Since 1954, our club has pledged to respect the laws that conserve Canadian nature and wildlife, and to honour friendship and camaraderie in all activities within and outside the club. Three generations of Latvian-Canadian sportsmen and sportswomen have stewarded this tradition at our property in East Gwillimbury — and we are still here.
Shooting Sports
Sunday Shoots from May through December at our Berzaine range. Trap, skeet, and the storied P‑I‑G round. The annual Internal/External competition each June is open to outsiders.
Heritage
Thirty-three Latvian-Canadian hunters and anglers gathered in the spring of 1952. By 1955 the club was registered in Ontario. Seventy-plus years of stewardship, friendship, and respect for Canadian wildlife.
The Property
Berzaine — our home north of Toronto. Spring clean-up days, summer events, the AGM, and the youth Camp Sidrabene all happen on land we steward together as members.

The 22 / Pistol Range Has Reopened
Following the Chief Firearms Officer’s 2025 directive, the directors mustered the resources to complete substantial improvements to the range. The work was extensive and costly. The board invites members in a position to help offset these costs to contact the executive committee. New range rules are in effect — please review the Range Rules before any visit.
